We would create a family-like environment with house parents, nutritious meals, healthcare, and emotional support, ensuring every child feels valued and secure.

Success Story

“Jodana Sports Ministries didn’t just give me a scholarship – they gave me hope, confidence, and a future I never dreamed possible.”
— Sarah Nakamya, University Student
Sarah’s Journey: From Vulnerability to University
Sarah Birungi was just 12 years old when she lost both parents to HIV/AIDS. Left in the care of her elderly grandmother, Sarah faced an uncertain future. With no money for school fees and basic necessities, she was at risk of dropping out of school and facing early marriage.
In 2018, Sarah was identified through our community outreach program in Matuga. Recognizing her academic potential and determination, we enrolled her in our scholarship program, providing full educational support including school fees, uniforms, books, and supplies.
“I remember the day I received my first school uniform,” Sarah recalls. “It was the first time I felt like I belonged somewhere. The teachers and other students treated me with respect, and I knew I could achieve anything.”
Through our comprehensive support, Sarah not only completed her primary education but excelled academically. She was among the top 10% of students in her district and was selected for a prestigious secondary school scholarship.
Today, Sarah is a second-year university student studying Social Work at Makerere University. She volunteers with our programs during holidays, mentoring other vulnerable children and sharing her story of hope and transformation.
“I want to become a social worker so I can help other children like me,” Sarah says. “Jodana Sports Ministries showed me that my circumstances don’t define my future. Now I want to help others discover their potential too.”
